The P/T Behavioral Intervention Specialist provides overall behavioral services to facilitate the optimal development of each resident within the OMH/DD Programs.

  • Participates in the interdisciplinary evaluation of individual residents and makes recommendations. Discusses individual’s initiatives with interdisciplinary team/and or program director prior to implementation.
  • Performs Functional Analysis of Behaviors before creating a Behavior Support Plan.
  • Conducts data collection and analysis of behaviors each month for all programs, as well as complete clinical summary notes, updates graphs and monthly ITT progress notes. Updates supports in a timely manner and conducts necessary in-services and observations to assess efficacy.
  • Creates a Trend Report semi-annually as to the status of restrictions and medications used in each individual’s behavior support plan.
  • Performs staff observations to ensure proper implementation of behavior support plan
  • Attends psychiatric appointments for individuals in crisis
  • Remain current on new support system to aid in behavioral support (augmentative communication, behavior analysis, etc.).
  • Maintains accepted standards of confidentiality through HIPAA privacy act.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree from a program in a clinical or treatment field of Psychology or Social Work.

Knowledge of OPWDD and OMH Regulations.

Minimum of 3 years of direct clinical experience with the MH population and with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Experience with dually diagnosed individuals preferred.

Valid Driver’s License Required
