Aid to the Developmentally Disabled (ADD) has 32 residences, from mid-Suffolk throughout the East End. These sites are filled with amazing people and we would like to share spotlight blogs on them as much as possible. Today, we would like to introduce you to Christina Cascino.
Christina lives in the Lake View Drive house in Riverhead and is very active in her community. Ms. Cascino is a Riverhead
Rotary Club volunteer. She works at ADD’s Northville Sensory Gardens two days per week, caring for the animals. Christina recently joined ADD’s new Staff Retention Committee, and is part of an advocacy group. In fact, she is a graduate of a ten week advocacy class as well.
Christina has a boyfriend, Joe, who lives at ADD’s Shirley house. They have been dating for almost five years. Christina enjoys going to visit her mother at her family’s house in Stony Brook on weekends. She also truly enjoys living with the four women in her house. She refers to them as “her girls.” Christina appreciates evenings when they get to relax and all chat together.
Some of her favorite things include going shopping at Tanger and Five Below; watching TV shows such as Supernatural and Charmed as well as the news and The Price Is Right. Christina’s favorite foods are pizza, pasta and grilled cheese. She does regular chores around the house such as laundry and vacuuming; and makes a habit of writing ‘To Do’ lists so she doesn’t overlook anything important. She also spends time writing in her journal.
Christina’s involvement in ADD’s events, meetings, groups and activities is truly valued. To learn more about the ADD organization, residential housing, job opportunities and advocacy groups, browse our website or call 631-727-6220 ext. 203 with any questions.
