RISE’s Main Street Market Food Pantry Partners With Department Of Health To Help Families Affected By COVID-19

Recently, the RISE Main Street Market Food Pantry received a call from the Department of Health, from their Community Support Specialist, asking if RISE’s food pantry might assist the Riverhead community.

The New York State Contact Tracing Initiative is helping individuals and families who are unable to go out and purchase food because they have tested positive for COVID-19, or have been exposed to the virus, and are in quarantine.  These people cannot afford food delivery, so the D.O.H. called to find out if we would be willing to drop off food at homes that are located in the immediate Riverhead area.  Of course, RISE’s Main Street Market agreed to assist our Riverhead community.  The Department of Health will call or email the food pantry coordinator on Mondays and Thursdays to identify and share the list of those who are in need and RISE will deliver the following day.

RISE Life Services is pleased to partner with the Department of Health and happy to be able to participate in this very important initiative to get food to those individuals and families affected by COVID-19.
