The excitement was abounding on January 8, 2021 when RISE’s day program, The Main Street Connection, celebrated their third anniversary. 
The Main Street Connection has grown significantly since its start in January of 2018. The program began with 2 individuals and now has grown to 35 participating!
The program has become a vital part of the community. Although many adjustments were made during 2020 due to COVID-19, given the many safety protocols in place, the Director, Coordinator and staff continue to offer a variety of new activities and continued favorites to the individuals. The day program expanded during 2020 and now utilizes RISE’s Northville Sensory Garden as their second site. The barn at the Garden, which is the group’s indoor space, is currently being renovated and everyone cannot wait to see how beautiful the result will be!
This spring, The Main Street Connection is planning on doing a great deal of planting and growing at the Sensory Garden. In the future, it is hoped that they will find a space to accommodate the continued growth, needs and popularity of this day program offering.
The Main Street Connection is a unique day program at RISE Life Services. Participants of this innovative program are afforded the opportunity to use and build upon their current skill set to participate in the life of the community. This “Day Program Without Walls” offers a choice of daily activities that the participants of the program decide upon at regular meetings.
