Who we are… 

RISE is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1980 as Aid to The Developmentally Disabled (ADD) by family members of disabled adults.

In March of 1984, we opened our first residential program in Riverhead. As a result of the initial success, ADD rapidly grew into a multi-service organization providing residential programs, day habilitation programs, and clinical support services for the developmentally disabled, mentally ill and dual diagnosed adults.

In 2018 ADD was rebranded to RISE Life Services to better reflect the scope and mission of the services the organization now provides.

Today RISE operates thirty-two group homes under OMH & OPWDD, a Program Without Walls under OPWDD, two food pantries, a Clinic Treatment Program under OMH, and a hotline connecting people to mental health and OPWDD services and supports: 1-855-RISE-Life.

Elevations Clinic Treatment Program’s goal is to serve adults, adolescents, and children to diagnose and treat their mental illness, to work with the person in developing a plan of care designed to minimize symptoms and adverse effects of illness, maximize wellness, and promote recovery toward the achievement of life goals such as, but not limited to, education and employment.
