Marci Mirisola, Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Marci Mirisola has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for over 8 years, and has over 20 years experience supporting and counseling children and adults with psychiatric and developmental disabilities in many different capacities. She started in the field as a Direct Support Professional and Fundraising Coordinator for 12 years at The Arc of King County in Seattle, WA.

After moving back to New York, Marci has worked in many different roles, such as a Behavioral Sepcialist for a large community residence, Program Supervisor for a mobile mental health team in the community, running her own private psychotherapy practice, and Program Director in a residential treatment facility for clients with eating disorders and mental health diagnoses. Most recently, she has been providing Regional clinical support to her company’s programs in NY, NJ and CT, to assist new therapists improve their clinical skills and identify ways in which to improve treatment outcomes, collaborate with multi-disciplinary treatment teams, and train and mentor new clinical staff as well as milieu staff, on how to best support clients. In this regional role, Marci has also become much more involved in the financial aspects of running a successful treatment facility and company.

As a leader and as a therapist, Marci is compassionate, caring and person-centered for each client and staff member she works with, all while building rapport and establishing trusting professional relationships. She believes teamwork amongst staff and with clients is essential to creating a positive and collaborative working environment, and to providing the best services and resources possible. Marci’s passion is to ensure that everyone, and espcially our clients, can make their own choices, and that they have the highest quality of life based on these choices.

In her personal time, Marci enjoys spending time with friends and family, camping, and traveling.
