Working as a Direct Support Professional for Rise Life Services, Justin has dedicated four years to assisting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. In his current role as a Med Tech with Rise Life Services, Justin is recognized for his ability to maintain order and organize medications for nine individuals. He also manages their medical appointments as an advocate, offering invaluable support to those under his care.
The position of Med Tech has not only been fulfilling for Justin but has also allowed him to excel in his responsibilities. Working closely with a commendable nursing team and forming personal connections with the individuals he supports has broadened his perspective on potential career paths within the healthcare sector.
Justin harbors a profound aspiration to pursue a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) propelled by motivations beyond personal gain. His earnest ambition is to effect positive change at Rise, benefiting both the organization and the individuals under his care.
When inquired about the prospect of winning $5,000, he shed light on his future endeavors within Rise Life Services. His aspirations include acquiring his LPN Certificate while concurrently upholding his role at RISE, where he dedicates himself to enriching the lives of the individuals under his care daily.
Practical Nursing Educational Programs equip LPNs with practical clinical exposure, instilling in them the confidence to provide comprehensive care to those in need. Transitioning from a Med Tech to an LP entails broadening one’s understanding of medical supervision and engaging in tasks familiar to Justin but at an elevated professional capacity.
Justin invested significant time into planning his future and despite his humility, his unwavering ambition shone brightly throughout the process. He is a great example of what Rise strives to be and we are honored to have Justin as our first place winner for the 2024 Shining Star Awards.
