Duck Race Brings Community Together to Support Rise Life Services

Last week, Riverhead was filled with excitement as Rise Life Services hosted its annual Duck Race. The event aimed to raise funds to support Rise participants and the Rise Main Street Market Food Pantry. Families and friends from the local community gathered by the river to cheer on their favorite ducks and contribute to a worthy cause.

The race saw brightly colored rubber ducks released into the river, with children and adults alike eagerly watching to see which duck would cross the finish line first.

Funds raised from the Duck Race will support Rise Life Services’ mission to help individuals with developmental disabilities lead more independent lives and bolster the Rise Main Street Market Food Pantry, ensuring local families have access to nutritious food.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the community’s support,” said Charles Evdos, CEO of Rise Life Services. “Events like these highlight the generosity and compassion of our neighbors. Every contribution helps us continue our work and make a positive impact.”

Another new venture for Rise Life Services is making honey! Participants are learning the process of beekeeping and actually harvesting and packaging honey. Rise Honey can be purchased at the Rise Sensory Garden located at 489 Sound Shore Road or by calling JoAnn Vitale at (631) 727-6220 Ext. 224 for orders!

The Duck Race was a delightful event that showcased the unity and strength of the Riverhead community, making a tangible difference in the lives of those supported by Rise Life Services.

Stay tuned for more events and ways to support Rise Life Services and their invaluable contributions to the community.
