Today marked another successful Suffolk Community College Job Fair, where opportunities and connections abounded. Reflecting on the event, one couldn’t help but think back to last year when Angelina Brown first crossed paths with the event. Fast forward to today, and Angelina’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring.
A year ago, Angelina attended the SCC Job Fair, where she met HR representatives. Little did they know then that she would soon become an integral part of the team at Rise Life Services. Seizing the opportunity presented at the job fair, Angelina accepted a position as a Direct Support Professional at Rise’s Randall Rd location.
Now, a year later, Angelina stands before her peers at the very same job fair, not as a job seeker, but as a shining example of success. Today, Angelina graciously accompanied Daniel Dern from the HR Department to the SCC Job Fair to share her experiences working with Rise Life Services and to shed light on the role of a Direct Support Professional.
But Angelina’s journey doesn’t stop there. Alongside her work at Rise, she’s been diligently pursuing her education at SCC. And soon, she’ll be taking the next step in her academic journey, transferring to Stony Brook University in the fall to pursue a degree in Social Work.
Angelina’s dedication and passion for her work have not gone unnoticed. She’s become a valuable ambassador for the organization, lending her voice to support its mission and values. Just a few months ago, she even assisted the SCC admissions team when they visited Rise.
Today, Angelina took the stage to share her journey and insights with her fellow students. Her words resonated with authenticity and passion, painting a vivid picture of what it means to be a part of Rise Life Services.
