Darryl K. Johnson has been a dedicated member of ADD’s past and RISE’s present for over two decades, beginning his career as a Residential Manager in the MH program. Throughout his tenure at RISE, he has had the privilege of working with and learning from many outstanding individuals within the organization’s programs. Currently, he serves as the Director of Intake & Admission, Supervisor of the Enrichment Experience Suicide Prevention Program (EESPP) for at-risk youths, and facilitator of the RISE Helpline.
In his role, Darryl collaborates directly with the NYS Office of Mental Health and NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities to place individuals within residential programs and recommend alternative housing needs and services to best support each individual. This role also involves working with hospitals, Care Coordination Organizations, day programs, mental health clinics, care managers and coordinators, families, schools, advocates, the Social Security Administration, the Department of Social Services, NYS Mental Hygiene Legal Services, and other state and local providers.
The SPP program has afforded RISE a unique opportunity to offer essential free services to at-risk youths and outreach services to Suffolk County. The team takes pride in the belief that their support saves lives. RISE continues to provide Darryl with opportunities for growth and to be an integral part of the team through leadership and support roles in strategic planning, new developments, branding, community outreach, budget analysis, staff retention, policy and procedures, and presenting to the Board of Directors.
