RISE Life Services is very pleased to announce that we are opening a second food pantry location at 185 Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. This community on the South Fork was in great need of a source of food donations for its food insecure neighbors.
The additional pantry has been in the works since before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and given the generosity of grant funds, RISE was able to secure the equipment and needs to finally open in Hampton Bays.
“We are thrilled to be opening this second location,” said JoAnn Vitale, who coordinates the food pantry program, “We are now able to serve more people in need in an area that called for it. It’s a wonderful feeling to finally see this open! Thank you to those who made this possible.”
The grand opening will take place on Thursday, November 19 and the pantry will be open every Thursday from 10am until 1:30pm weekly (except for holidays). It is the right time to be able to provide much needed items for East End families at Thanksgiving.
This new location will also provide additional work for the individuals within the RISE program, who have been waiting for work and thrive in this type of program. They are a part of the RISE staff. This initiative helps them to achieve their goals within the community, while helping others in need.
